An Urgent Message About the Tragic
Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico
As Aveda Earth Month comes to a close we are reminded of the preciousness of clean water at home in the United States. While approximately 2 million residents of Boston are boiling their water to make it safe to drink after a water main break, the world is focused on the catastrophic oil spill off the Gulf Coast. Our hearts go out to the loved ones of those who were killed in the terrible drilling-rig disaster, which is so close to home for us.
As the aftermath of the oil spill continues, our long time Earth Month partner in the gulf region, Gulf Restoration Network (GRN), is taking action to help protect the wildlife and fisheries that are so critical to the health and prosperity of the region. Thank you to all of you who donated to GRN during Earth Month. GRN is now asking for support in response to the oil spill. You can volunteer to help with the recovery and cleanup efforts and make a difference on the ground. Or visit GRN’s website to learn more about other action alerts and ways you can help.
